The Sugar Skull Masque pays homage to the revered Mexican tradition at the heart of the Day of the Dead festivities (In our culture, many alternatively celebrate Halloween and All Saints Day!)

Traditionally, sugar skulls were crafted to represent departed souls, their foreheads adorned with names, and placed on home ofrendas or gravestones to welcome back specific spirits.

This Masque presents an original  digital illustration melding lace, vibrant flowers, dangling beads, crossed bones and eerie makeup, transforming the woman's visage into a hauntingly beautiful and spooky spectacle.
